Ayşe, Ali, Mehmet and Zeynep are middle-class millennials struggling to make ends meet in Istanbul. Either still living with their parents or hardly getting by without help from their families, they are all beset by similar woes: money crunch, joblessness, social isolation. In view of the world’s horrors that Zeynep enumerates in her diary entries, these are minor problems, ‘slight disasters’, but they are all-consuming, at least to the extent of making them cry in the still of the night. 　　However, Umut Subasi’s first feature, Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster, is not a melodrama. With an appealingly light touch, it diagnoses the malaise of a generation that has run up against a dead end, one whose future prospects are indistinguishable from a game of chance. This is a world where astrology, the lottery and online personality tests compete with visa and job applications as life-shaping elements. 　　Fittingly, the film is structured around chance and coincidence, with its handful of characters encountering each other in every permutation, as though there were no world outside this small social bubble. 　　敬太（杉田雷麟 饰）的弟弟日向很久之前，在山中失踪。敬太一直还在寻找弟弟。一天，他突然收到母亲寄来的一盘旧录像带，里面是弟弟失踪瞬间的录像。　　敬太擅长通灵的室友（平井亚门 饰）从录像带中感受到了不祥的气氛，并劝敬太不要过多地介入其中。 随后，他俩与一直报道此事的记者 美琴（森田想 饰）共同前往了弟弟失踪的那座山。

　　故事发生在圣诞节前夕，母亲的健康突然出状况，让四名成年子女和他们令人头痛的父亲慌了手脚，面对可能即将发生的失去，家庭气氛也混乱失衡。但聪明的母亲六月处变不惊，以犀利的幽默、坦率的态度和丰沛的爱，安排好自己的人生谢幕。

打破白娘子传说的固有框架，以许仕林后人许博森的现代视角切入，将千年神话与当代青年的成长、抉择结合，把 “救母” 而非 “爱情” 作为核心主线，赋予经典故事全新的情感内核与现实思考。
